I previously worked as a consultant, designing and building web sites. Most of my work was done for Virtual Aspect Ltd.
I have also carried out intranet design work (necessarily confidential) for BT Tallis Consultancy and McDonalds.

1.92 - 12.94 BIBA (Bremen Institute of Industrial Technology and Applied Work Science) Germany
1.95 - 9.95 BICC/ Loughborough University of Technology
Research Manager. I conceived, planned and managed MITS (Metaphors for Integrated Telecommunications Services), a 4 million Ecu RACE project. After my three year contract at BIBA, I completed the management of the MITS extension as a consultant for BICC and Loughborough University of Technology.
1.89 - 12.91 BICC Multimedia Communications Group
Consultant Designer, working on DIMUN (Distributed International Manufacturing Using Networks), where I built a hypermedia communications system, MILAN, combining video, voice and CSCW to fully support a group of people working remotely. My work also included consultancy within the BICC group on systems design, interface design and the introduction of advanced IT services.
6.80 - 1.89 British Telecom Information Systems
Systems analysis and specification for common services on TOLD (a 2000 terminal TP system).
I then joined BT's FIU (Forward Intelligence Unit) where I worked as a team leader, responsible for 2-3 analysts and computer scientists, researching developments in computer science and advising the board on their potential impact on data processing.
Following this, I designed and built a hypertext-based management information system to support the introduction of TQM.

Lecturer III (part time while also looking after my children), responsible for the ergonomics course of the BA(hons) in Industrial Design.
